Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder commented on recent rumours about a move to Manchester United, and completely dismissed that option.
In recent media reports, it was said that the Dutchman formed part of a possible exchange allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to move to Real Madrid.
But Sneijder was clear in a statement issued on his website: When I left Ajax, all I wanted was to go to Real Madrid. They are the best club in the world. And now that I m here, all I want is to win as many trophies as I can with them and wear the white shirt for as long as possible.
The same rumours have been doing the rounds about Robinho. Well, I hope he stays too, and I hope that Cristiano Ronaldo joins us at the Bernabeu.
In short, IÂ’m flattered to be linked to Manchester UnitedÂ… but itÂ’s not happening. End of story.
Sneijder has been of great influence at Real Madrid since joining the Spanish side last season. At Euro 2008, the player scored against Italy and France but couldn t avoid elimination by Russia.
