Napoli table bid for Gerard Deulofeu

Gerard Deulofeu is set to leave Barcelona yet again with return to Italy on the cards for former Everton wide man.

The 23-year-old Spanish international struggled to break into the Barcelona first team this season and is likely to see his chances even more limited with the return of Ousmane Dembele and the arrival of Philippe Coutinho.

The flamboyant winger is no stranger to life in Italy having played for AC Milan back in 2017 and reports from Rai Sport are suggesting that Deulofeo could be set for a move to Napoli.

The Partenopei have presented Deulofeu with a five-year deal worth €2 million a year plus €500,000 in bonuses.

Barcelona will not stand in his way and are ready to sanction the move which still depends on Simone Verdi’s potential arriv…

Granada capture Diego Buonanotte

Granada have completed the signing of Malaga winger Diego Buonanotte, los Boquerones have announced on their official website.

The Argentine hotshot has put pen to paper to a four-and-a-half-year deal at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.

Buonanotte, 24, is club’s fourth signing of the transfer window, following Recio, Aranda and Nolito.

The arrival of the talented forward is likely to be a huge boost for the club in their attempt to escape relegation to Segunda, with the Argentine likely to slot straight into the starting line-up.

Diego Buonanotte joined Malaga in a €4.5 million deal from River Plate in January 2011, but has failed to prove his worth at La Rosaleda.

After starting the season as a fringe player, the winger has slowly started to work…

Suarez needs to do more – Benzema

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema thinks Liverpool s Luis Suarez needs more than one good season before the Spanish giants move for him.

Benzema netted 24 goals in all competitions last term as Real won the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.

La Liga glory frustratingly eluded them, though, as city rivals Atletico Madrid who they beat in the final of Europe s premier club competition triumphed.

Real are expected to bolster their squad in the close-season as they look for their first league title since 2012.

And Liverpool star Suarez who scored 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances as his team finished second last season is reportedly on their hit-list.

However, Benzema, who said he was unconcerned at reports of the club s interest in the Uruguayan, …

Lille 23/20 to beat Celtic in Thursday’s Europa League showdown

Market: Lille win

Odds: 23/20 @

Looking to pile even more pressure onto Celtic in midweek, Lille will make the trip to a downbeat Glasgow on Thursday night as they sign off their Group H campaign on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, coming under even more scrutiny over the weekend, Celtic had to settle for what was a hugely disappointing 1-1 draw at home against St. Johnstone. With many around Glasgow calling for Neil Lennon to step down from his role in the dugout, the defending Scottish champions find themselves in the midst of their most testing spell in recent memory. Appearing someway off bitter rivals Rangers, Celtic have remarkably managed to win just a pair of their last 11 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to October…

Arteta holds no doubts over Arsenal´s ability to respond to north London derby defeat

Mikel Arteta is in no doubt over Arsenal s ability to bounce back from a dreadful run in the Premier League, starting off against Burnley on Sunday.

Arsenal have won just two of their past seven Premier League matches, losing three of the previous four.

Their most recent defeat came against north London rivals Tottenham, with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane sending Jose Mourinho s side back to the top of the table and condemning Arteta to his second derby loss as Arsenal boss.

The Gunners now start a run of six games in the space of 17 days across all competitions, including an EFL Cup quarter-final against Arteta s former club Manchester City just before Christmas.

Burnley visit Emirates Stadium on Sunday, but Arsenal at least head into that clash on the ba…

Inter deny Icardi is up for sale

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has denied that Mauro Icardi is up for sale.

On Sunday, Icardi s wife and agent Wanda Nara claimed Inter had put the captain up for sale amid reported interest from Atletico Madrid.

The 23-year-old Argentinian signed a new four-year contract at San Siro in June 2015, and Ausilio insisted there are no plans to let him leave beforehand.

Asked about Nara s comments, Ausilio said: I m not angry about it, I just would have preferred to spend my Sunday differently.

It made me smile to be honest, but I do think it was the wrong time and the wrong place. You always have the opportunity to discuss these things but I feel it was done the wrong way. It should be done in private.

In any case, one day of headlines is eno…

´There are many regrets´ – Galliani on Torres´ time at Milan

Adriano Galliani has admitted to having many regrets about Fernando Torres unhappy six-month spell with AC Milan.

Torres returns to San Siro with Atletico Madrid for Saturday s Champions League final against Real Madrid and is expected to be named in Diego Simeone s starting line-up.

The experienced striker has enjoyed a something of a renaissance with Atletico this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions after rejoining his boyhood club on an 18-month loan from Milan last January.

Torres is under contract with the Serie A club until the end of next month, but will almost certainly not return to Italy, where he scored just one goal in 10 league appearances between August 2014 and January 2015.

And Galliani told Mediaset: There are many regrets, we…

Rodriguez plays down United link

James Rodriguez has vowed to stay at Porto after downplaying the possibility of joining Manchester United.

Colombia international Rodriguez has persistently been linked with the English Premier League club after impressing since his 5 million-euro switch to Portuguese champions Porto in 2010.

However, the 21-year-old claims an exit from the Estadio do Dragao is not on the agenda as he is about to enter his third season at the club.

I want to stay here, Porto are a big club and they are my present, he said.

My only thought is playing for Porto and I am also thinking about what is best for the club.

Rodriguez also had words of praise for fellow countryman Jackson Martinez, who earned an 8.9 million-euro transfer to Porto last week, having impres…

Ajax want Ryo Miyaichi

Ajax are exploring the option of signing Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi, .

The Amsterdammers are in the market for a new right winger, but limited resources mean they cannot afford to spend a lot of money on the new recruit.

Having missed out on Heerenveen winger Luciano Narsingh, who opted for PSV Eindhoven, Ajax have turned their attention to Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi.

The Japanese midfielder largely impressed during the loan spell at Bolton last season, but he is likely to be loaned once again because of the fierce competition for places at the Emirates.

The 19-year-old already has some Eredivisie experience, having spent six months at Feyenoord during the 2010/2011 season, and he quickly became fans’ favourite at De Kuyp.

Miyaichi needs r…

Lukaku wants to be a more ´all-round´ striker than Kane

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku wants to be more of an all-round striker than Premier League leading goalscorer Harry Kane.

Tottenham forward Kane has won the Golden Boot in each of the past two campaigns and is joint-top of the standings this year with 24 goals, alongside Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah.

Despite enduring a difficult end to 2017, Lukaku has scored 14 goals for United this term, but his six assists are superior to the two supplied by the England international.

I would normally be up there, like last year or the year before, I was up there, Lukaku told Sky Sports when the difference between his and Kane s records was pointed out.

But this year, I had the dry spell in November and December, where there was a gap, and now things are b…
